I followed a link Keybank emailed offering a {$300.00} bonus for opening a checking account. I opened the account and received notification that I would get my debit card in the mail. I never received anything, and my opening deposit was never deducted from my banking source. Now I am receiving statements monthly. I contacted Keybank but they will not give me any information and insist I must come into a branch. I asked to have the account closed and was told I would have to come into a branch to close it. This makes no sense to me since I was able to " open '' the account without coming into a branch.

I have also been unable to create an online banking account at www.keybank.com stating unknown errors.

I'm attaching all of my email correspondence with Keybank as well as a letter I sent them in XXXX. At this point, I just want the account closed.

The events occurred in the following order : XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I contacted XXXX XXXX of KeyBank requesting information about a mortgage loan. That day he sent me a link to enter all my historical information.
XX/XX/XXXX Keybank sent me a Conditional Approval Letter for the amount of {$600000.00} Because I already had this letter from the bank, and I had previously spoken with XXXX, explaining my historical information, I decided to start looking for a home, and on XX/XX/XXXX I signed a contract with Key Team to represent me in the purchase of the house.
XX/XX/XXXX I received an email from KeyBank with the Pre-Application Estimate. That same day my agent sent KeyBank the Counterproposal with the information and dates of the purchase process.
XX/XX/XXXX the closing date is confirmed for XX/XX/XXXX By this date everything was already advanced, that is why on XX/XX/XXXX the house inspection was carried out so I had to pay via check the amount of {$640.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I made the payment of {$500.00} through Appraisal, requested by XXXX to whom I gave my XXXX information so that the aforementioned charge could be made.
During this entire period KeyBank through XXXX XXXX kept me informed indicating that the loan process was following its course and that there would be no setbacks with the closing. For this reason and as part of the process, I made the XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) payment for {$5000.00} via check. During all this time, I attached the documents required by the bank. For this, I have been sending emails to KeyBank asking them to inform me about the progress of my loan, and if it was going to be approved or not, and to see how to recover my XXXX, however, I have not received any response. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX contacted me indicating that we needed to postpone the closing until XX/XX/XXXX because they were still analyzing my loan. This was impossible, since the seller was buying another house, and it would be paid with the money from my purchase. That same day, the closing was only postponed until XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a call from XXXX from KeyBank who told me that they had elevated my case to be considered as Conventional and that the response would be positive. Following this call, my Key Team agent called me and told me that he had spoken with XXXX and had informed him that the response to my credit was negative, so in this situation I was no longer in a position or time to recover my XXXX. During all this time, I tried to send all the information and documentation that was requested, always counting on an apparent positive response to my loan, however I was never informed of the real situation of my case.
On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter via courier from KeyBank indicating that my credit application had been Declined due to Insufficient cash Income Exceeds Product.
After this, I visited the KeyBank office with the intention of filing a claim and I have not received help from its officials. Likewise, I called the call center and they told me that there is no link on the website that allows me to file the claim. I tried again by sending emails to XXXX, XXXX from KeyBank ( XX/XX/XXXX ) requesting that they send me a link to be able to file my claim without receiving a response until today. I have tried by different means to find a solution from KeyBank without finding any alternative until today.
I must detail that the credit was requested jointly with my wife, XXXX XXXX. From the first call I had with XXXX XXXX from KeyBank, I informed him that my wife had no credit history or work history here in the US since we just arrived here on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and my wife on XX/XX/XXXX. I also indicated that my wife worked at XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in XXXX for more than 5 years. However, XXXX told me that this would not be an impediment.
All of this has really spoiled our dream of being able to have our own home, considering that this is the first time we have started a similar process. This is without considering that I have to renew the rent on my apartment month to month, trusting that the credit response would be positive as XXXX had been indicating to me. As a result, my monthly rental expense increased by 32 %.

Subject : Request for Assistance with Mortgage and Loss Mitigation Issues XX/XX/XXXX Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have applied for Loss Mitigation assistance due to a medical emergency on XX/XX/XXXX, which resulted in a XXXX XXXXXXXX. I am now receiving Social Security benefits as a result. Despite my efforts to work with KeyBank, I have faced numerous obstacles.

KeyBank initially denied my request for assistance and has subsequently failed to process my documents correctly. They claim that I did not submit the required Loss Mitigation XXXX XXXX or page XXXX, despite my belief that I included it. Additionally, KeyBank alleges that I did not respond to their calls, but I have consistently answered and returned calls. They have only sent me a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, denying my request without providing details on any missing documents or reasons for denial.

I have also encountered issues with the increase in my mortgage payment, which rose from {$1500.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, to {$1900.00}. KeyBank attributed this increase to unfairly assessed property taxes, as the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX shows incorrect ownership information. I am seeking clarification on why this increase was applied and why incorrect tax information was used.

Despite providing all required documentation and making multiple attempts to resolve these issues, including a personal visit to a KeyBank branch, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. I have also involved XXXX XXXX XXXX who attempted to assist but encountered difficulties in communication with KeyBank.

I request your assistance in investigating these matters, including : The discrepancies in my mortgage payment increase and the use of incorrect tax information.
The mishandling of my Loss Mitigation application and the failure to process my documents correctly.

In accordance with fair credit reporting act, this creditor has violated my right under 15USC 1681 section 602 states I have the right to privacy ( 15 USCS 1681 section 604 a section 2. It also states a consumer agency can not furnish an account without my writing instructions under 15 USCS 1666b a creditors is not to treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan or any late for any purpose.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Key Bank. They had my name and the last XXXX digits of my social security number and my zip code and they claimed the application came from New York. I told them to cancel it. I was turned over to XXXX from the Consumer Fraud dept but he started fishing for information so I said I would hang up and call back. I asked him to cancel the application and he refused. The phone number called from ( XXXX ) is not in service if you call back. The happened XXXX at XXXX XXXX and the caller ID was XXXXXXXX XXXX

I opened an account recently with XXXX XXXX ( key bank ) and deposited a check for $ XXXX dollars. Immediately after the check was deposited I received an email saying that it would take 7 days for the check to be deposited. I called key bank and told them that I would place a hold on the check with my bank because I needed the funds to be available as this is my emergency fund. The representative said that she was going to notated and that I could go a head and place a hold on the check. I then transferred {$7500.00} to key bank using XXXX from my other bank account. Two days after the funds were deposited into my account KeyBank placed my account on hold for fraud review. I called key bank to ask is I need to provide documentation and they said no, called them back 3 business days later and they asked me for a bank statement from my other bank account provided that and was told that was sufficient. Called them back today and was told that I have to go in person to a branch to fill out an affidavits. I live in Texas and the closest branch to me is located in Florida. On top of it all I set up direct deposit with them and my pay check is being deposited into this account that I dont have access to. I am without my paycheck and my emergency fund. Please help me resolve this! I am without access to money and cant pay my bills. I cant afford a trip to Florida to solve this issue. I am willing to provide any documents they ask. My credit score is excellent and Ive never had issues with any other bank.

On XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX, I initiated a transfer of money to my Laurel Road checking account, and I noticed that the day after I did that, they wouldn't let me log into my account because they claimed that they have to do a security check. I want to close my account with Laurel Road and get my money back because I have seen many negative reviews about this company and how they mistreat their customers, and I feel the same way. I sent in my phone bill statement, and the bank account statement from which I transferred money to my Laurel Road checking account per their request. This is the message I got after I tried to log in on their website " We're conducting a security review to protect your account. We may reach out to you for additional information, if needed. Most reviews are resolved within 10 business days. For help, call XXXX or TDD/TTY : XXXX. ". I have never experienced any bank or company doing something like this before, and I am astonished that they're able to get away with this.

I filed a dispute with Key Bank for a XXXX transaction regarding XXXX for {$690.00}, on XX/XX/year>, the bank then advised that no error has occurred and didn't process a refund on the dispute.

On XX/XX/year>, I purchase four aisle but when I received the tickets the seats were different. I tried to contact the seller-the contact feature was blocked didn't work. I listed the ticket for sale but XXXX XXXX, limited the price to {$140.00} per tickets. XXXX XXXX was sellling tickets for {$80.00} per ticket. I try to transfer the tickets to someone else but the transfer feature was blocked. XXXX XXXX blocked the resellling of the tickets by limiting the price and also block transferring the tickets to another person so the tickets were unable to be used.

I filed a complaint with the XXXX also, # XXXX I had to repurchase tickets that I used to see the concert. So there was two transactions. I'm requesting a refund for the tickets that I wasn't able to use or transfer for {$690.00}.

Hello my name is XXXX XXXX XXXX This will be my second time reaching out to CFpb. I call key bank in XXXX til this present day now they keep telling me they mail internal revenue back my check so internal revenue can reissue me another check. Key bank states XX/XX/XXXX it shows irs cashed the check. I reached out to irs they stated they havent received a check and they asked me to reach key bank to ask for the checking number or reference number so they could locate the check. I asked keybank and XXXX XXXX multiple times and they refuse to give me the check number and reference number. They stated they are not allowed to give it to me because the check was made out to irs and not myself. Keybank and XXXX XXXX I believe they are lieing and they still have my check and they stated they cant call bank to verify the payment was sent and they also stated irs have to reach them. This bank put me through XXXX it been 1year now and I still havent had my money this bank could easily call irs to verify they send them the check and they could have given them the check number but instead they rather put me through XXXX. There need to be action taken because keybank isnt doing there job. They are saying as I was told they not sure how check was sent back. So yes I dont believe they mail my check back. I even ask the bank to mail the check to me instead of mailing it back to irs. They stated the check was from irs so it goes back to them. Irs mailed the check to me last year. Im the one that signed it and mailed it to XXXX XXXX to deposit in my account. I wish I never mail this bank anything because they waited long time to get this resolved. As of now nothing is resolved and Im asking for proof that the check was mailed back and Im asking for check number and reference number to give to irs so irs can reissue me another check.

In XX/XX/XXXX, two unauthorized withdrawls were made from my personal Key Bank account. I alerted the bank to this fraud as soon as I discovered it and immediately closed the account. One transaction was stopped before it was completed ; the other was reimbursed. Upon closer inspection of all the transactions, I discovered that a check mailed to the PA Department of Revenue had not cleared the account. Another check ( {$24000.00} ) written to the IRS appeared to have cleared the account since the correct amount was withdrawn. I did not click on the link to see a copy of the check.

In XX/XX/XXXX, as I was paying my quarterly IRS taxes online I noticed that there was no payment received in XXXX. I checked the closed account and found that the check I had written to the IRS had been washed and cashed by a person unknown to me named XXXX XXXX. The only original handwriting on the check was my signature. I notified Key Bank immediately of the fraud. I also filed a complaint with the XXXX XXXX XXXX Police and the U.S. Postal Inspector.

On XX/XX/XXXX, Key Bank notified me in writing that my claim for reimbursement was denied because I had not notified them of the fraud within 30 days. I met with the bank manager who said she had known of several cases where funds had been reimbursement beyond the 30 day window. On the basis of this, she appealed the decision. I received a phone call on XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX XXXX in the Key Bank Executive Office in XXXX. I was told that they were going to review my case.

Over the next five months I checked in regularly to inquire about the progress and to get more information on how, when and where the checked was cashed. I was told it was their policy to not provide any information to clients. The only information I was told, was that she had " reached out to all of her line of business partners '' but she refused to tell me what a line of business partner was.

On XX/XX/XXXX Key Bank once again denied the claim saying I had not notified them of the fraud within 30 days.

XX/XX/XXXX a transaction was made to a fraudulent company called XXXX that took XXXX for an XXXX '' tv XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. ... ... ... .A small amount of common sense is required to understand the weight of these items would require more than XXXX track # as you can not ship XXXX XXXX and an XXXX XXXX XXXX in the same box ... ... ....
I was on XXXX when these products appeared and had no idea an overlay was used to take my money. The bank insists that a track number was given and a delivery occured. The track number Key Bank gave me does not give a delivered date or a weight of the package and only states a label was created. When a label is created that does not prove something shipped or was delivered but Key Bank Fraud dept does not understand how shipping procedures work and they just assumed it shipped.

Key Bank Fraud dept has also not explained how they came to conclusion by using only a track number nor do they explain the communication they used because the phone number to XXXX goes to a busy signal XXXX and after writing them through email no response was ever given to me from the fraud company.

Below is the letter that was sent to XXXX at Key Bank in the fraud department as a manager who said he saw the error as well.

XXXX 3.should be at least three XXXX track numbers per XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXX 4.I worked in shipping receiving 17 years at original XXXX store in XXXX, Il where we moved XXXX XXXX a XXXX of all sizes from where I retired from XXXX to XXXX. Also employed with XXXX XXXX store XXXX years on the dock loading trucks XXXX. This is enough to have an expert opinion on packages and shipping track numbers, weights, etc.
5.date delivered is void XXXX 6.phone number never rings only a busy signal XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX tried several timesRED FLAG 7. several reviews state they wrote via email and never got a response.
8.. track says was delivered to my usps letter box which is XXXX feet away from house 9.Smarr was shopping XXXX when these items appeared. A friend said I linked to an overlay address this business created as I did not eveN realize I was outside of XXXX until months later 10. I purchased right after this store was just opened XX/XX/XXXX. RED FLAG 11. I never recieved anything not even a track number to my email.
12XXXX XXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX gives the company an F rating after XXXX months. F means AVOID AT ALL COST and can reveal government is involved.
13. upon searching for a TV in their website it returns with no TV for sale, search XXXX returns no phones for sale and search bike or tricycle returns no tricycle for sale in results The following screenshots all point to a fraud I sincerely hope you can see this so that I do not have to file a civil case. These people need to be stopped to avoid others from being scammed. XXXX months has been a long time. You can also review all the phone calls that I have made as it has been days upon days I have tried to resolve this. You are the first out of at least XXXX employees who wasn't a zombie about it.

I have had major problems with Laurel Road online banking.
As I am new to credit and building it I must have my bills paid on time, currently I lost my apartment due to a split up, and had to change phones and numbers. I tried to update it on the app and from there all normalcy disappeared. I found out my card was froze for me trying to use it several times. Me not being able to update via thier app, made it so I wasn't aware they were trying to reach me and XXXX that they didn't know I hadn't received thier message. So I called and told them u never received anything from them no call no email which is true. I had a friend loan me his phone to update my info and was told that I had to prove his phone was mine or they wouldn't unfreeze my card. Now I stress to them I'm XXXX and I have three dogs, we need this money to eat and survive on as I am on the XXXX .and for hours I'm transfered back and forth to many agents all not helping or understanding the urgency of this. Then I finally find a old email from them and fix the card and get it unfroze. The very next day the entire account is place on a hold and now I can't even see what THIER doing as I can't even get on the app now ... my storage is not being paid which adds late fees everyday until it's paid. My shipping container with the bulk of my apartment in it is also unpaid that's XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX alone, plus now late fees. I can't pay for my written test or my car insurance, nor a hotel room to get us out of the truck for a bit. I can't eat, or XXXX XXXX and the worst part is all this is doing to my newly established credit.. which I've worked really hard on ... everything is falling apart I want them to pay all my late fees and bills that they caused to go into default their fault. This is no joke this is the second worse bank ever don't open an account you will regret it.

XX/XX/XXXX complaint against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX complaint against Keybank XXXX XXXX made several complaints against Keybank to CFPB XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I had a checking and savings bank account with Laurel road bank. It's Keybank during XX/XX/XXXX. Due to my check being on hold and direct deposit, they threatened to close my account. Not only this unfair and unreasonable bank held my money for weeks but now but later closed my account. In XX/XX/XXXX I got this letter from Keybank stating that they had charged {$20.00} overdraft fees into my account even when they were closing my account. At the time of closing my account and stealing my money, Keybank threatened that they will put negative remark on my history. When I tried to open a bank account at XXXX, account was opened and then XXXX closed it. When i called XXXX on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, I was told that due to remarks by Keybank, they are going to close my account. Due to this early closure- I am missing {$300.00} cash back bonus.
In their XXXX XX/XX/XXXX letter XXXX mentioned that : Please be advised that we may furnish negative information to a consumer reporting agency, including but not limited to, your account being closed I want strict most action action against Keybank. They stole my {$20.00} and then on top of it, made my report negative that i can not open any other new account. Keybank never gave me opportunity to fix the issue. Keybank took some unilateral decisions against me and now causing harm in future also. If I don't have bank account ( due to negative remarks from Keybank ) -I can not do any job. Will keybank pay for all my damages. I want immediate damage control by Keybank and pay for my damages ( {$20.00} overdraft and {$300.00} promotional offer of XXXX ). Keybank can not send me in circles and ask me to reach out to XXXX.

Keybank messed up with my credit profile and provided the information to early warning system that there has been an identity fraud in my account on XX/XX/XXXX Keybank Account XXXX : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Both Keybank and XXXX XXXX XXXX are playing games with me and sending me in full circles. I am falsely being accused of having " Checking account fraud '' and that remark had been put on my credit profile. As a result, I can not open the bank accounts.
If I reach out to XXXX XXXX then KeyBank simply says go to the XXXX XXXX XXXX If I reach out to the XXXX XXXX XXXX then the XXXX XXXX XXXX says go to KeyBank. This is ridiculous and I am sent in circles.
I sent an email and both are being CCed here and they need to fix this mistake.

If I don't have a bank account, I can not have direct deposit and that impacts my ability to get a job.

This bank is the devil, there is a lot of fraud and shady practices going on in this bank, this bank hand my address wrong on file, listed as XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX instead of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, they have compromised my personal information and now after there was fraudulent transactions on my account, they dont want to take responsibility for their mistakes.
They have also had me send XXXX police reports to have my claim denied again, They also took money from me on XX/XX/XXXX and i found my checking account withdrawn by XXXX randomly, this was witnessed by the branch on XXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXXo.
The branch XXXX himself said that the organization did me wrong, for the second time.

Ive been humiliated for this company and im forced to file numerous police reports and to lose a lot of time, they are not even looking at the information im providing them, they are taking XXXX day after i file a claim re-opening, XXXX tired and drained out, this a bank that has a lot of fraud and shady practices going on, they should be held accountable for what they are doing, the representatives on the phone seem to give me different answere and there is something fishy going on each time i call on the phone, they always seem to contradict themselves.

I have told them to leave my address as it is on file because they had it wrong until i had proof that it was right, when i went to the bank they had changed it, thank god i already had the proof on a check.

They have treated me with immense cruelty, and have left me starving XX/XX/XXXX, they have let me starving for XXXXXXXX XXXX while making XXXX dollars available balance available and then taking it out the next day for a perfectly liable check.


This bank has treated me like trash and have dangled between discrimination and treating me worse than they could treat a criminal.

I don't apply for a credit card from key bank, and I don't have any account with them, but I found the collection agency call me about late fee for my credit card payment which's I don't have I asked for the application, but they don't have any approve looks someone using my information but till now the bank ask me to pay the balance and effect my credit score. so, I'm filling this complain against the bank.
